Amazon Announces $54 Billion Investment in UK to Boost AI and Digital Economy
Amazon.com (AMZN) has unveiled plans to invest $54 billion (£40 billion) in the UK over the next three years, targeting warehouse innovation and supporting the nation's artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives. The UK, Amazon's third-largest market after the U.S. and Germany, will see the creation of four advanced fulfillment centers, new delivery stations, and upgrades to transport infrastructure.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer praised the MOVE as a 'massive vote of confidence' in the UK's business environment. The investment is projected to contribute £38 billion to GDP, generate thousands of jobs, and accelerate the digital economy. Amazon's expansion includes two new corporate buildings in London and upgrades to its existing network of over 100 operational sites.
